Hopefully we can collectively put our heads together to help out someone who has questions on Limo startups. If someone has a question, shoot it out! I'm no Donald Trump of the business, but I'm not going broke either.

Seems like a cool site so far. Great alternative to Limos.com Maybe we can help the startups instead of confusing them.

That's almost an oxymoron statement. I am in my first year of business. I in fact won't have my first paid customer for about another 45 days. I have found some things in this industry very confusing. Mostly issues with laws and regulations. That part is very complex.

For start-ups this may be where we can help the most. Or go over their heads. I think though that the ones that are serious about starting up will get through that part. The ones that just want to drive a fancy car will get lost in that part and go be a driver for someone or give up on the idea.

Coming from virutally no business experience this is very tough. I've learned a ton about regulations and just tips and tricks, and it makes it easier day to day. Right now, I'm really hitting advertising hard. If I can surge some advertising while I'm new, I'm hoping that it will help.

but right now ive got other things in my life: like my daughter claire olivia born yesterday morning

hello. i have been wanting to start my own limo service for quite awhile. i have a nice sum of money saved and would really enjoy any peice of advice or recommendations. i only have a couple questions for now but more are sure to follow. first off should i start off getting a couple smaller sedans to catter more to the individual business person, or should i go all out and get one stretch limo, eventually i would like to be able to have a fleet for any occasion, but ,as they say,you have to start somewhere.

Adam B., you can check out some articles that can guide you through it... My in-law started his limo business through online articles and it really helped him. This article How To Open A Limo Service Business might be able to give some tips. \:\)

start ups....

Do you know where you want to go? have you really looked or are you just thinking I'll open up and they will come? bright new shiny will bring them in.

In the limo business you have to [1] advertise... in the yello book ... no were else works so good... when the last time you wanted a limo and look at say bill boards or I dont know, a radio stations...???
you have to [2] go after business... you have to call business that go to the airport [ so you go to the car rental place and rent a sedan yuck] but that run brings in operatiing monies or as I call them found money... Call you assocations, movie board for the state..lawyer board, ect ect... offer free sedvice the the group in your town / state that is bring new business in. I really dont like airport runs but 5 or 6 a week means you have money in your account at then end of the month... is there a motel that doesnt have airport service ? hello???

Point is it isnt always the party drunk your taking out in your new limo that pays the bills... make a list of people business asscoations... let them know your there.......
