So on the continuing saga of finding our next limo to buy, one that’s brand new and is not going to cause us any hassle. I have a few updates on that! We did a comparison of Royal by Victor against Krystal and we decided we liked Royal a little better just because of the configuration we could do and because it had some more options that Krystal didn’t have.
It was kind of cute, I got a call from an Ashley at Krystal and she wanted to let me know that she saw the videos. She had a couple of comments to say about what we had talked about on the last video. She told us about how they do 7 cars a day from their plant , most of the other places do 5-7 per week. They’ve got a very high output. She let me know a few other things that they do and it’s not just all cookie cutter, like funeral cars. I was actually really happy that she followed up with us. Maybe some time in the future we will get Ashley on for an interview with us and learn a little more about Krystal.

Let me tell you now about Legendary Coach Works. They’re out of Florida, near Orlando. Behind me here is one of the cars that they’ve built; it’s a 38 ½ foot H2 Hummer. It has the tandem axles and dance floor that we were looking for as well as some of the other features. We talked to them about warrantee, build times, features, service support, and I’m pretty pleased with what I’ve found there. We’ve been talking with Rick Vincent, who is one of the salesmen there. He might be the only salesmen there because I’m not sure how many it takes to sell limousines. They do 5 cars a week out of their facility and they have been doing conversions for over 10 years. The warrantee that they offer sounds fair, there is no actually factory warrantee left over (with any company), you have to buy a 3rd party warrantee to cover anything that happens on the vehicle that is a factory part.

We may go that route on the warrantee but as far as the other stuff they have a lot of guarantees. We’ve been able to look at a lot of their products online and a lot of the stuff that they’ve sent us. Rick has actually spent a lot of time answering our questions, even with not knowing if he is going to get a sale from us. He has spent quite a bit of time with us and was very communicative and actually got everything answered.

We have a design here basically for a 23 passenger vehicle with a dance floor in the front half of it. It’s not going to have the big screen like we wanted. We decided against that because you can’t put the divider down whenever you have the big screen up there. I was worried that it was going to be an issue so we just decided to go without. It does have a couple of screens up front, two 15 inch monitors on each side of the divider window. There are also several other monitors within the vehicle. It has a VIP area in the back end where you can sit 3 or 4 people and it has a monitor over here with a bar and everything.

I’m really pleased with the configuration that we’ve been able to come up with in their cars, at least pre sale support. We will let you know as it goes on how the support has been over all, even after the sale. Hopefully nobody drops us after the sale.

It looks like we have decided to go with these guys. We are currently working with the bank; the bank for some reason offered us another 10% more on our loan. I’m not sure why but they approved us for a $100,000 loan without having to go through any heavy financials and then when I talked to them today they told us that they could actually do $110,000. The more cash I can keep in my pocket the better!

This is a picture of one of the cars that they’ve done; I believe it might be the same car. It’s actually very similar to what we’re doing. We showed you the one that was Royal by Victor that had the two toned paint job, well we’re going to get a two toned paint job on this. We’re going to get the nice flashy wheels with a 7th wheel all the way in the back (it will be the spare). With that on there it will make it around 39 ½ feet and in Portland 40 ft is the maximum. So we’re going to push it right against the max. I think that were going to make our mark at being the biggest limos in town.

I’m really happy with this and I’m going to go down and pick it up personally. They told me it would be about 10 weeks build time so I’m going to go down and pick it up when it’s ready. Of course I’ll have my video camera with me. During the build they did say they would send pictures, a few pictures a week so that we can put them up on our blog.

That’s where we are headed. I’m very pleased to have decided on what appears to be a good company and I look forward to doing a lot of business with them.
